Born in Virginia Beach & raised in Danville, Jocelyn's passion for entrepreneurship and helping others started in her early childhood. She started her entrepreneur journey on the steps of her Virginia Beach townhome selling pop tarts, orange juice, and Kool-Aid to the kids in the neighborhood. This followed her to Danville where she would go on to sell baked goods in both middle and high school, applying lashes for other students in the school, and babysitting.
After graduating high school she moved to Los Angeles to obtain her degree in Acting for Film at New York Film Academy. Faced with many personal challenges during that time she decided to release all of her thoughts into a blog. In 2012 the blog, "Let's Chic Chat" (currently known as Girl Bosses Code) was born. Obtaining interviews from celebrity makeup artist Gabriela Cardenas and attending celebrity events such as Nate Parker and Hill Harper as media coverage, she had found her light.
Upon receiving inquiries from others who desired to start a business Jocelyn began assisting small businesses with their graphics. Designing business cards, flyers, websites and providing branding strategies she quickly realized how much she enjoyed helping others launch their babies. After working at a PR agency in Atlanta, GA she saw beyond individuals and their current status. She realized she had the ability to see their goals come into fruition and wanted to help develop them. Jocelyn received her start to make this happen through the support of both cities she called home, Danville and Virginia Beach. This unexpected, yet undeniable passion went on to birth her Seven Brand Co.
